Ingredients for Miriyala Chekkalu Recipe

  • 1 cup Wet Rice flour
  • 1/4 cup Urad dal flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Hing
  • 15 gram Black pepper
  • 5 gram Butter
  • As required Salt
  • 1/4 liter Oil For Frying
  • 1/4 liter Water for kneading

Directions: Miriyala Chekkalu Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add wet rice flour, urad dal flour, cumin seeds, hing, crushed black pepper, butter and salt.
  • STEP 2.Mix the dry ingredients and add water in small quantities to prepare a dough.
  • STEP 3.In a banana leaf grease oil (plastic wrap can also be used), take a small amount of dough and flatten over banana leaf.
  • STEP 4.In a pot, heat oil for frying, once the oil is hot drop the flattened dough in the oil and stir on medium flame until it appears golden in color.
  • STEP 5.Remove the chekkalu from the pot and remove excess oil by damping a tissue paper on the chekkalu.
  • STEP 6.Serve after 5 minutes for the crisp and crunch in the chekkalu
