A japanese recipe of deep-fried ground meat patties with chopped onions and seasonings. One of the popular yoshoku foods (western style Japanese food) in Japan, these Menchi Katsu (Japanese Ground Meat Cutlets) deliver the satisfactory of flavorful meat and the x-factor of deep-fried goodness. Breaded in golden panko breadcrumbs, they are seriously good!

Ingredients for Menchi Katsu Recipe

  • 1 pound ground beef and pork
  • 1 chopped brown onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup Panko
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • As required pepper
  • As required Nutmeg
  • As required Flour
  • As required egg, beaten
  • As required Panko
  • As required oil for deep frying
  • As required Tonkatsu sauce
  • As required cabbage, shredded

Directions: Menchi Katsu Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a large bowl put ,meat onion, egg, 1/4 cup panko,pepper and nutmeg , knead very well
  • STEP 2.Divide into 8 round pieces and flatten
  • STEP 3.Coat with flour,egg and then panko
  • STEP 4.Refrigerate for 20mins
  • STEP 5.Heat oil in a frying pan for deep frying
  • STEP 6.Fry the patties well each side
  • STEP 7.Serve with cabbage and tonkatsu sauce
