Ingredients for Meen Peera Recipe

  • 1 cup Shredded coconut
  • 500 gram Sardine Fish
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 small size ginger
  • 3 small size onions
  • 2 green chilies
  • As required Curry leaves
  • 1 cup Water

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Crush the onions, ginger, garlic cloves, green chillies together. Shred the coconut.

  • STEP 1.Cut and wash the fish . Heat the pan and add the fish

  • STEP 1.Add shredded coconut 1 cup and the crushed spices. Add ¼ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp black pepper powder

  • STEP 1.Mix well , add 1 cup water and salt to taste, cover and cook for 3mins . Add curry leaves and 1tbsp coconut oil , mix well. Serve with rice.

Storage and serving method

  • STEP 1.Serve meen peera as a side dish with lachha paratha (whole wheat) and steamed rice for a healthy lunch.
