  • 0.08 kilogram Fish sliced
  • 1/25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.17 teaspoon Red chilly powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1/50 cup Crushed ginger
  • 1/50 cup Crushed garlic
  • 1/25 cup Sesame oil
  • 0.13 cup Vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon Home made pickle powder
  • 4.17 gram Tamarind
  • 0.08 tablespoon Mustrd seeds
  • 0.08 curry leaves stem

How to Make Meen Achar Recipe

Steps To Prepare

STEP 01

Marinate the fish slices with salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Keep them aside for 30 minutes.

Cooking Directions

STEP 01

Heat some cooking oil in a pan and fry the marinated fish pieces till they are perfectly cooked and crispy.

STEP 02

In another pan, add some sesame oil and splutter 1tbsp mustard seeds. Add 2 stems of curry leaves, 1/4 cup of crushed ginger and 1/4 cup of crushed garlic. Stir to incorporate well.

STEP 03

Add 2 tsp chilly powder and 6 tsp pickle powder and mix well. Pour ½ cup of tamarind water and 2 tsp of salt. Mix the ingredients well.

STEP 04

Once the mixture starts boiling, add 1 cup of vinegar and let it boil.

STEP 05

Turn off the flame. Transfer the fried fish pieces to the gravy and mix well.

Storage And Serving Method

STEP 01

You can store the pickle in airtight containers or in the fridge for upto a month or two.
