#cvr mccain potato smiles which is prepared from potato and potato starch. however in this recipe corn starch and boiled-mashed potatoes are used for the same result. it is an ideal snack for evening tea or masala chai and can also be served as biscuits.

Ingredients for McCain Smile fries/Potato Smile fries Recipe

  • 1/2 cup boiled potatoes (grated)
  • 0.06 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tbsp Corn flour
  • 0.13 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • as required Oil for deep fry
  • to taste Salt

Directions: Mccain Smile Fries/potato Smile Fries Recipe

  • STEP 1.Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 2 cups boiled and grated potato. Further add ¼ cup bread crumbs, 2 tbsp corn flour, ½ tsp chilli powder and salt to taste.
  • STEP 2.Combine all the ingredients well. add more bread crumbs if required.
  • STEP 3.form a soft non sticky dough. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes, this prevents smiley from breaking in oil and retain its shape.
  • STEP 4.Now take a large ball sized prepared potato dough and flatten slightly thick over butter paper. butter paper avoids from dough to stick.
  • STEP 5.Cut round using a cookie cutter or a glass also using a straw make eyes and use spoon to make a smile.
  • STEP 6.Deep fry the potato smiles in hot oil or brush with oil and bake in preheated oven at 180° celsius for 25 minutes or till it turns golden and crisp.
  • STEP 7.Stir occasionally and fry till golden brown, keeping the flame on medium. Finally, serve with sauce/mayonnaise.
