Ingredients for Matar pulao/peas pulao Recipe

  • 1/4 Tbsp ghee
  • 1/4 Tsp cumin seeds
  • 1.25 Pieces Piece cloves
  • 1/4 Pieces piece Bay leaf
  • 1/4 Pieces piece Star anise
  • 1/4 Pieces piece cinnamon stick
  • 2.50 Pieces piece black pepper
  • 3/4 Pieces cardamom
  • 1/4 Pieces medium sized onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 Pieces small green chili (slit lenthwise)
  • 1/4 Tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh peas
  • 1/2 Cup Uncooked basmati rice
  • 1/2 Cups water
  • As Required Salt

Directions: Matar Pulao/peas Pulao Recipe

  • STEP 1.firstly, in a cooker heat ghee and add cumin seeds.
  • STEP 2.further add cloves, bay leaf, star anise, cinnamon stick, black pepper and cardamom. saute till they turn aromatic.
  • STEP 3.furthermore, saute onions till they turn translucent.
  • STEP 4.also saute green chili and ginger-garlic paste.
  • STEP 5.additionally add green peas and saute well. either add fresh or frozen peas.
  • STEP 6.further add basmati rice soaked for atleast 30 minutes and saute gently.
  • STEP 7.now add 2 cups of water. always add 2 cups of water to 2 cup of basmati rice.
  • STEP 8.additionally add salt to taste and mix well.
  • STEP 9.pressure cook for 1whistles on medium flame.
  • STEP 10.once the pressure releases from the cooker, gently fluff.
  • STEP 11.finally, serve peas pulao or mattar pulao with raita or with paneer curries.
