Matar Paneer Recipe

Ingredients for Matar Paneer Recipe

  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 No.s whole green cardamom
  • 4-5 No.s black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 No.s medium onion
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 4 No.s large garlic cloves
  • 1-2 No.s green chilies roughly chopped
  • 3 No.s medium tomatoes
  • 10 No.s whole cashews
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 No.s bay leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar optional
  • 2 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • 1.25 cup Water
  • 250 gram Paneer
  • 3/4 cup green peas
  • As required cilantro to garnish

    • STEP 1.1 heat some oil and add cardamoms, peppercorns and cumin seeds, onions, ginger garlic and green chillies to it.

    • STEP 2.2 saute till the onions turn brown and then add tomatoes and cashews to it.

    • STEP 3.3 cover and cook for 6 minutes and remove the pan from flame.

    step 5

    • STEP 4.4 grind this into a paste using a blender.

    • STEP 5.5 heat some ghee in a pan and add bay leaves and red chilli powder to it.

    step 7

    • STEP 6.6 saute it for a few seconds and add the prepared paste to it.

    • STEP 7.7 mix it well and add coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, turmeric, salt and sugar.

    step 9

    • STEP 8.8 cook this for a minute and pour in some curd by stirring it continuously with some water and let it boil.

    step 10

    • STEP 9.9 add paneer cubes and green peas to this, cover and cook it for 5-6 minutes and finally add garam masala.

    step 11

    • STEP 10.10 give it a nice stir and your matar paneer is ready to be served.
