  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 No.s whole green cardamom
  • 4-5 No.s black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 No.s medium onion
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 4 No.s large garlic cloves
  • 1-2 No.s green chilies roughly chopped
  • 3 No.s medium tomatoes
  • 10 No.s whole cashews
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 No.s bay leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar optional
  • 2 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • 1.25 cup Water
  • 250 gram paneer
  • 3/4 cup green peas
  • As required cilantro to garnish

How to Make Matar Paneer Recipe

STEP 02

1 heat some oil and add cardamoms, peppercorns and cumin seeds, onions, ginger garlic and green chillies to it.

STEP 03

2 saute till the onions turn brown and then add tomatoes and cashews to it.

STEP 04

3 cover and cook for 6 minutes and remove the pan from flame.

STEP 05

4 grind this into a paste using a blender.

STEP 06

5 heat some ghee in a pan and add bay leaves and red chilli powder to it.

STEP 07

6 saute it for a few seconds and add the prepared paste to it.

STEP 08

7 mix it well and add coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, turmeric, salt and sugar.

STEP 09

8 cook this for a minute and pour in some curd by stirring it continuously with some water and let it boil.

STEP 10

9 add paneer cubes and green peas to this, cover and cook it for 5-6 minutes and finally add garam masala.

10 give it a nice stir and your matar paneer is ready to be served.
