A tasty and chatpata sandwich toast recipe from the streets of bombay which can be served as both chaat recipe and also breakfast recipe. the uniqueness of this sandwich toast recipe is prepared with the combination of aloo masala served with a topping of fine sev. One of the easy and simple tasty sandwiches loaded with vegetables, condiments and savoury namkeen. unlike the traditional sandwich recipes which are dedicated to morning breakfast, these flavoured sandwiches are served as street food snacks. Apart from the vegetable stuffing, it is also loaded with unique potato masala and hence the name masala toast sandwich.

Ingredients for Masala Toast Recipe

  • 2 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric / haldi
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 2 No.s boiled potato, mashed
  • 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves, chopped
  • 6 piece sliced bread, white / brown
  • 1/4 cup green chutney
  • 1 No.s onion, sliced
  • 2 No.s tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 piece capsicum, rings
  • 3 teaspoon Butter
  • 1/4 cup sev
  • 1 tablespoon chaat masala

Directions: Masala Toast Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a pot, heat 2 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp jeera, ginger and let splutter.
  • STEP 2.Then add 2 boiled and mashed potatoes.
  • STEP 3.Add ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp chaat masala and ½ tsp salt.
  • STEP 4.Mix everything well.
  • STEP 5.Turn off the flame and mix 2 tbsp coriander leaves. Potato masala stuffing is ready.
  • STEP 6.Take 2 bread slices and spread green chutney over one side.
  • STEP 7.Add topping on one bread slice with 2 slices of onion and 5 slices of tomato.
  • STEP 8.Sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala.
  • STEP 9.Now spread a tbsp of prepared potato masala stuffing.
  • STEP 10.Now add the capsicum slices as topping.
  • STEP 11.Cover with another bread slices and spread ½ tsp butter.
  • STEP 12.Toast the sandwich with some butter till golden and crisp.
  • STEP 13.Spread ½ tsp green chutney and cut the masala toast sandwich.
  • STEP 14.Garnish with sev and chaat masala before serving masala toast sandwich.
