It is also served at marriages and poojas. Masala mathri is a variant of mathri with spices added to make it more crispy. Mathri is also available in different flavours, such as fenugreek leaves (methi), pickle (achari mathri), cumin (jeera) and masala (mixed spices). #snacks

Ingredients for Masala Mathri Recipe

  • 1 cup ▢2 cup
  • 1 tbsp ▢2 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp ▢2 tbsp
  • 1/2 tsp ▢1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp ▢¼ tsp
  • 1/2 tsp ▢1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp ▢½ tsp
  • 1 tbsp ▢2 tbsp g

Directions: Masala Mathri Recipe

  • STEP 1.firstly, in a large bowl take 2 cup wheat flour and 2 tbsp rava.
  • STEP 2.add 2 tbsp kasuri methi, 1 tsp pepper, ¼ tsp ajwain, 1 tsp cumin, ½ tsp salt and 2 tbsp ghee.
  • STEP 3.crumble and mix well making sure to form a moist flour.
  • STEP 4.now add water as required and knead the dough.
  • STEP 5.knead to a tight dough adding more water if required.
  • STEP 6.pinch a ball sized dough and flatten with hand.
  • STEP 7.prick using a fork to prevent from puffing.
  • STEP 8.fry the mathri in medium hot oil. alternatively, bake in a preheated oven at 180-degree celsius for 25-30 minutes.
  • STEP 9.fry on low flame till the math floats. this takes approx 1-2 minutes.
  • STEP 10.now continue to fry on low to medium flame till they turn crispy and golden in colour.
  • STEP 11.drain off the methi mathri over kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
  • STEP 12.finally, serve mathri with evening chai or store in an airtight container for a month.
