Ingredients for Masala khichadi Recipe

  • 0.33 cup Rice washed and drained
  • 0.17 cup Toovardal dal washed and drained
  • 0.17 cup Fresh toovardal lilva
  • 0.67 tbsp Ghee
  • 0.33 Tbsp Onion sliced
  • 0.33 Tbsp Tomato sliced
  • 0.67 As Required sticks dalchini
  • 0.67 Pieces Cloves
  • to taste Salt
  • 0.67 tbsp Ginger garlic green chilli pasye
  • 0.33 tsp Garam masala/khichdi masala
  • 0.33 tsp jeera
  • As Required For garnish fresh coriander leaves
  • 0.17 tsp Haldi powder
  • 0.33 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 0.33 tsp Shania jieera powder

Directions: Masala Khichadi Recipe

  • STEP 1.Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker and add the cinnamon and cloves and ginger garlic paste and saute for a medium flame for 30 seconds.
  • STEP 2.Add onion and saute tiil light brown colour.
  • STEP 3.Add tomato, fresh toovar and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 4.Add rice and dal mixture and saute on a medium flame for 2 more minutes.
  • STEP 5.Add remaining masala and mix well.
  • STEP 6.Add approximate 3 cups of water and mix gently .
  • STEP 7.Once the mixture comes to boil close the lid and cook it on low flame for three whistles.
  • STEP 8.Serve with a topping of ghee and serve with curd.
  • STEP 9.Garnish with coriander leaves.
