  • 0.17 teaspoon Oil

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.To make the filling, heat oil in a pan and saut茅 onions until golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 3.For the dough, boil water in a pan and add salt. Slowly add rice flour and mix well to form a smooth dough.
  • STEP 4.Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center and fold the edges to form a dumpling.
  • STEP 5.Steam the dumplings in a steamer for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  • STEP 6.Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to cook the potatoes until they are completely mashed for a smooth filling.
  • Add spices according to your taste preference for a spicier or milder filling.
  • If the dough is too dry, add a little more water. If it is too sticky, add more rice flour.
  • You can add grated coconut or chopped cilantro to the filling for extra flavor.
  • To check if the dumplings are cooked, insert a toothpick or knife into the center. If it comes out clean, they are done.

Storage and Serving

  • Masala Kadubu is best served hot and fresh.
  • Leftover dumplings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
