A spicy Indian biscuit. It is crunchy in taste. It is so much healthier than the deep fried snacks that we often enjoy with tea. It is healthy. These healthy crackers are made with whole wheat flour, sesame seeds , green chillies and fresh green coriander leaves. The ingredients like garlic and cardamom are ground together to form the masala of the biscuit. The dough is kneaded with flour, butter, baking soda and other ingredients and rolled out into cookies. These are then baked in the oven and served fresh.

  • 0.07 piece Ginger small
  • 1/5 No.s Garlic
  • 0.33 Shallots
  • 0.07 tablespoon Crushed dry red chilli
  • 0.13 No.s Cardamom

  • 0.03 teaspoon Fennel seeds
  • 0.13 tablespoon Grated coconut

Directions: Masala Biscuit Recipe

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Collect all the ingredients for the masala like garlic, cardamom, ginger and others to be ground.
  • STEP 2.Prepare the dough batter using flour, butter, baking soda, vanilla essence and eggs.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixer grinder add 1 small piece ginger, 5 shallots, 3 garlics, 1 tbsp crushed dry red chilly, 2 cardamoms, 1 cinnamon stick , ½ tsp fennel seeds and 2 tbsp grated coconut.
  • STEP 2.Grind the ingredients and keep aside the paste. Into a bowl break 1 egg and whisk it.
  • STEP 3.Add 1 tsp sugar, ¼ butter, ½ tsp vanilla essence, 1 tsp sesame seeds, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp baking soda and ¼ tsp baking powder. Whisk the ingredients and combine together.
  • STEP 4.Now transfer the ground paste and 1 cup all purpose flour. Mix well. Knead to form a dough.
  • STEP 5.Take balls from the dough and form a round cookie shape with hands. Place the shaped doughs in a baking tray laid with butter paper.
  • STEP 6.Crack an egg into a small bowl. Use to coat the dough. Preheat the oven at 170 degree celsius for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Bake cookies at 170 degree celsius for 30 minutes. Serve masala biscuits in a serving dish.

  • STEP 1.To serve the masala biscuits, you can pair them with a cup of tea or coffee.
  • STEP 2.To store the biscuits, you can put them in an airtight jar or container.
