  • 1/5 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/5 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1/5 cup Jaggery, Grated
  • 1/10 cup Water
  • pinch A Pinch Of Salt

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat jaggery and water until the jaggery melts.
  • STEP 2.Add grated coconut to the jaggery syrup and cook until the mixture thickens.
  • STEP 3.In a separate bowl, mix rice flour, salt, and water to make a soft dough.
  • STEP 4.Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs.
  • STEP 5.Place a spoonful of the coconut-jaggery mixture in the center of each disc and fold it into a half-moon shape.
  • STEP 6.Steam the dumplings in a steamer for about 15-20 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Coat the steamed dumplings with grated coconut and serve.

Storage and Serving

  • Manda Pitha is best served fresh.
  • Leftover dumplings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat the dumplings in a steamer or microwave before serving.
