Directions: Manathakkali-drumstick Poricha Kootu Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the manathakkali berries in water for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add drumstick pieces, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Add the soaked manathakkali berries and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • STEP 6.In a blender, grind coconut, cumin seeds, and green chilies to a smooth paste.
  • STEP 7.Add the coconut paste to the pan and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
