Ingredients for Malabar Elanchi Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • 0.06 cup Sugar
  • 0.13 tablespoon Ghee
  • 0.06 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 0.38 tablespoon Cashew nut
  • 0.38 tablespoon Raisins
  • 0.13 No.s Egg
  • 0.13 cup All purpose flour/Maida
  • 0.03 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.13 pinch Salt
  • As required Water

Directions: Malabar Elanchi Recipe

Cooking Directions for Filling

  • STEP 1.In a pan add 1 tbsp ghee. Once hot, add 3 tbsp of cashew nuts and raisins each. Keep it aside.
  • STEP 2.In the same pan add ½ cup of sugar and ¼ cup of water and melt it down.
  • STEP 3.Into the melted sugar add 2 cups of grated coconut and ½ tsp of cardamom powder, fried cashew nuts and raisins.
  • STEP 4.Mix the ingredients until dry. Keep aside to cool down.

Cooking Directions for Covering

  • STEP 1.Break an egg into a bowl. Whisk it well.
  • STEP 2.Add 1 cup flour, ¼ tsp turmeric powder and a pinch of salt.
  • STEP 3.Pour in the required quantity of water to get a loose batter.
  • STEP 4.Heat a tawa. Pour in 2 tbsp batter and spread out with the back of the ladle to form a thin layer of pancake.
  • STEP 5.Now transfer the pancake to a plate. Stuff 2 tbsp filling and roll it. Delicious elanchi is ready.
