How to Make Malabar Elanchi Recipe

Cooking Directions for Filling

STEP 01

In a pan add 1 tbsp ghee. Once hot, add 3 tbsp of cashew nuts and raisins each. Keep it aside.

STEP 02

In the same pan add ½ cup of sugar and ¼ cup of water and melt it down.

STEP 03

Into the melted sugar add 2 cups of grated coconut and ½ tsp of cardamom powder, fried cashew nuts and raisins.

STEP 04

Mix the ingredients until dry. Keep aside to cool down.

Cooking Directions for Covering

STEP 01

Break an egg into a bowl. Whisk it well.

STEP 02

Add 1 cup flour, ¼ tsp turmeric powder and a pinch of salt.

STEP 03

Pour in the required quantity of water to get a loose batter.

STEP 04

Heat a tawa. Pour in 2 tbsp batter and spread out with the back of the ladle to form a thin layer of pancake.

STEP 05

Now transfer the pancake to a plate. Stuff 2 tbsp filling and roll it. Delicious elanchi is ready.
