Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a bowl, mix together semolina, yogurt, and water to make a thick batter. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Saute until the dal turns golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger. Cook until the onions turn translucent.
  • STEP 4.Add grated carrots, peas, and capsicum. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  • STEP 5.Add Maggi masala and mix well. Remove from heat.
  • STEP 6.Grease the idli plates with oil and pour the rava idli batter into each mold.
  • STEP 7.Steam the idlis for about 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked through.
  • STEP 8.Remove the idlis from the mold and top each idli with a spoonful of the Maggi masala mixture.
  • STEP 9.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
