Manchurian or Fusion recipes are hugely popular among Indians. These are generally made with a combination of vegetables or with choice of meat alternatives. Manchurian balls made out of maggi instant noodles, mix veggies, spices and deep fried to perfect crispiness, then simmered in spicy garlicky Indo-Chinese gravy.Manchurian is one of the very popular Indo Chinese street food of India. Manchurians are made of vegetables, ginger, garlic, spices. Then deep fried to perfect crunchiness and then simmered in spicy Indo-Chinese gravy. This version of manchurians are made with not only vegetables but also India’s famous Maggi instant noodles.

Ingredients for Maggi Manchurian Recipe

  • 1/2 teaspoon Butter
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1 No.s maggi tastemaker
  • 1 No.s maggi noodles
  • 1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon carrot, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capsicum, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon spring onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon chilli sauce
  • 0.38 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup corn flour
  • 1/2 No.s maggi noodles, for outer layer
  • 1/4 liter oil, for frying
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 No.s clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 1/2 No.s chilli, slit
  • 1 tablespoon spring onion, chopped
  • 1/4 No.s onion, petals
  • 1/4 No.s capsicum, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 0.13 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour
  • 1/4 cup water, for slurry
  • 3/4 cup water, for gravy

Directions: Maggi Manchurian Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a pan take 1½ cup water and 2 packs of maggi tastemaker.
  • STEP 2.Mix well and get to a boil.
  • STEP 3.Crush 2 packs of maggi noodles into boiling water. You can use noodles of your choice.
  • STEP 4.Mix well and boil for 2 minutes or until maggi is cooked well.
  • STEP 5.Do not overcook maggi, as it turns mushy.
  • STEP 6.Cool completely, and transfer to a large bowl.
  • STEP 7.Add 2 tbsp of chopped onion, 2 tbsp of chopped carrot, 2 tbsp of chopped cabbage, 2 tbsp of chopped capsicum, 2 tbsp of chopped spring onion, and 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste, mix well.
  • STEP 8.Then, add 1 tsp of chilli sauce, ½ tsp of salt and mix well.
  • STEP 9.Now add ½ cup of cornflour and mix gently.
  • STEP 10.Mix well forming a soft dough. Make sure not to mash the noodles.
  • STEP 11.Grease your palms with oil and prepare ball-sized manchurian balls.
  • STEP 12.Coat with crushed maggi to get an extra crispy bite.
  • STEP 13.Deep fry in medium hot oil.
  • STEP 14.Stir occasionally, and fry until the balls turn golden brown.
  • STEP 15.Drain off excess oil and keep aside.
  • STEP 16.In a large wok, heat 2 tbsp of oil and saute 2 garlic cloves, 1 inch ginger, 1 chili and 2 tbsp of spring onion.
  • STEP 17.Add ½ onion, ½ capsicum and stir fry on high flame.
  • STEP 18.Then add 2 tbsp of tomato ketchup, 2 tbsp of vinegar, 2 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of chili sauce, ¼ tsp of black pepper powder and ¼ tsp of salt.
  • STEP 19.Combine the sauces well.
  • STEP 20.To prepare corn flour slurry, mix 2 tsp of cornflour in ½ cup water. Add in the sauces
  • STEP 21.Mix continuously, making sure the sauce thicks and turns glossy.
  • STEP 22.Pour in 1½ cup water and mix well.
  • STEP 23.Drop the prepared maggi balls in the wok and mix well.
  • STEP 24.Cook for a minute until the flavour is well absorbed.
  • STEP 25.Enjoy maggi manchurian gravy recipe with fried rice.
