  • As required Fresh fish head
  • 2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • As required Salt
  • 15 gram onions finely chopped
  • 15 gram tomato cubed
  • 3 green chilies slitted
  • 100 gram Split moong dal
  • 2 tablespoon Mustard oil
  • 12 gram Ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoon Cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
  • As required Water
  • 2 dried red chili powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • As required Sugar

Steps to prepare

  • STEP 1.Wash the fish head and marinate with turmeric powder and salt
  • STEP 1.Make a paste of ginger paste,cumin powder,kashmiri red chili powder and water
  • STEP 2.Fry the marinated fish head

Cooking directions

  • STEP 1.Fry roast the moong dal in a frying pan. Boil the moong dal in a pressure cooker with salt and water
  • STEP 1.Heat the pan with mustard oil. Add dry red chilies,2 bay leaves,2 cardamom,2 cloves,1 cinnamon sticks,½ tsp cumin seeds and let them temp
  • STEP 3.Add the chopped onions and fry till light brown. Add tomatoes and cook until they are soft
  • STEP 1.Add the spices paste prepared before, cook until the raw smell goes away. Add fried fish head and mix well.

Storage and serving method

  • STEP 1.Serve this delicious recipe with some steamed rice for lunch or dinner.
