  • 1 pound potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • As required Other ingredients
  • As required Flour
  • 2 Egg
  • As required Oil For Frying

  • STEP 1.Preparing the potato mixture firstly, start by boiling the potatoes in water until they become soft.

  • STEP 2.Once the potatoes are cooked and tender, drain away from the water. Scrunch the potatoes with a fork or a manual potato masher.

  • STEP 3.Add the freshly chopped parsley and cilantro, beaten egg, and garlic and splices to the potatoes. If you like spicy food you can add hot chile pepper to the potatoes as well.

  • STEP 4.Make some small patties out of the potato mix.

  • STEP 5.Frying the maakouda first heat the oil in the skillet for deep frying, dip the potato patties in the egg, then the flour, and then fry them. Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying.

  • STEP 6.Fry the maakouda until it becomes golden brown and uses a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.

  • STEP 7.Serve the maakouda instantly. You can serve it as an appetizer with lettuce, tomato, and hot sauce.
