  • STEP 1.Place a muslin cloth or cheesecloth over a strainer and pour the yogurt into it.
  • STEP 2.Tie the cloth and hang it over a bowl for 4-5 hours to allow the whey to drain out.
  • STEP 3.Transfer the strained yogurt to a mixing bowl and add sugar or honey, cardamom powder, and saffron strands.
  • STEP 4.Mix well until the sugar or honey is fully dissolved and the flavors are well combined.
  • STEP 5.Refrigerate the shrikhand for at least 2 hours to chill and set.
  • STEP 6.Serve the low-fat shrikhand chilled, garnished with chopped nuts.
  • STEP 7.Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
