  • 0.13 cup Urad Dal
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • as per your need Water For Soaking And Grinding

Directions: Low Calorie Oats Idli Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a blender, grind oats into a fine powder.
  • STEP 2.In a separate bowl, soak urad dal for 4-5 hours.
  • STEP 3.Drain the water from the dal and grind it into a smooth batter.
  • STEP 4.Mix the oat powder and urad dal batter together.
  • STEP 5.Add salt and allow the batter to ferment overnight.
  • STEP 6.Grease the idli moulds with oil and pour the batter into them.
  • STEP 7.Steam the idlis for 10-12 minutes or until cooked.
  • STEP 8.Remove from the moulds and serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add grated carrots or chopped spinach to the batter for added nutrition.
  • Make sure the batter is not too thick or too thin. It should have a pouring consistency.
  • To check if the idlis are cooked, insert a toothpick or knife into the center. If it comes out clean, they are done.
