Nothing more soul-warming than a hot bowl of Spanish lentils. The lentil is an edible legume. It is an annual plant known for its lens-shaped seeds. It is about 40 cm tall, and the seeds grow in pods, usually with two seeds in each. As a food crop, the majority of world production comes from Canada and India, producing 58% combined of the world total.

Ingredients for Lentejas Recipe

  • 1 cup dried lentils
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 piece small chopped onion or 1 green
  • 5 sprig small chopped cilantro
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 5 cup Water
