  • 1/2 cup Bottle Gourd, Peeled And Chopped
  • 1/4 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger, Grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic, Minced
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 Dried Red Chilies
  • as per your need Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds, ginger, and garlic.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped bottle gourd and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 5.Add the soaked lentils, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  • STEP 6.Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • STEP 7.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and mash the dal lightly.
  • STEP 8.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and dried red chilies.
  • STEP 9.Add this tempering to the cooked dal and mix well.
  • STEP 10.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
