Deep fried batter coated banana snacks to satisfy your hunger pangs.Lampreado, also known as Lambreado or “Payaguá Mascada”, is a dish typical of the cuisine of Paraguay, that has a high nutritional value.This is a delicious fried cake which base is one of the most characteristic features of culinary taste of Northeast of Paraguay: cassava (cassava Manihot = Manihot utilísima, "family plant of Euphorbiaceae which roots are edible and for its high content of starch used to produce a flour which is high in protein).

Ingredients for Lampreado Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Wheat flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 No.s Egg
  • As required Water
  • 1 No.s ripe bananas
  • As required Oil

Directions: Lampreado Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1. in a bowl take flour, salt, brown sugar and baking powder.

  • STEP 1. to this mixture add 2 eggs and some cold water.

step 3

  • STEP 1. mix everything well in order to make a batter.

step 4

  • STEP 1. slice the bananas into long strips.

step 5

  • STEP 1. dip the banana strips in the batter.

step 6

  • STEP 1. heat some oil in a pan and fry the batter covered banana slices in it.

step 7

  • STEP 1.2 cook well from both the sides.

step 8

  • STEP 1. wipe off the extra oil and your lampreados are ready to be served.
