Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a large bowl, marinate the lamb with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
  • STEP 2.In a large pot, heat oil and add whole spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Saut茅 until fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown. Add marinated lamb and cook until it is browned on all sides.
  • STEP 4.Add soaked basmati rice, water, and salt. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover the pot. Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the rice and lamb are cooked through.
  • STEP 5.Garnish with fried onions, chopped cilantro, and mint leaves. Serve hot with raita or yogurt on the side.
