Buckwheat is gluten free flour and hence considered as an ideal food especially during fasting days. In Northern Part of India, especially during Navratri or other festive occasions.This vrat ka halwa is made from singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour) and kuttu ka atta (buck wheat flour). A sweet dessert that is often made during fasts on Navratri and Ekadashi.

Ingredients for Kuttu Ka Halwa Recipe

  • 0.08 cup clarified butter
  • 0.17 cup buckwheat flour/ kuttu flour
  • 1/2 cup Hot water
  • 0.17 cup Sugar
  • As required Chopped almonds and walnuts
  • 0.17 teaspoon cardamom powder

Directions: Kuttu Ka Halwa Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1. In a pan take clarified butter, buckwheat flour and roast it for 15 minutes at medium flame.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2. Add hot water and stir well.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3. Cook at medium heat until it gets a dough like consistency.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4. Now add some sugar to the halwa.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5. Mix it well and cook at medium flame until the sugar dissolves completely.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6. Add ½ tsp cardamom powder to this and mix well.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7. Top with some chopped almonds and walnuts.
