Ingredients for Kung Pao Prawns Recipe

  • 400 gram Large raw prawns
  • 1 teaspoon Cornflour
  • 2 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon Castor sugar
  • 85 gram Unsalted roasted peanuts
  • 3 No.s Whole dried red chillies roughly chopped
  • 10 gram Ginger finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves finely chopped Nos

Directions: Kung Pao Prawns Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1.in a bowl place 400 gm large raw prawns that have been shelled and deveined.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2. Add 1 tbsp light soy sauce and mix together.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3. Then add 1 tsp cornflour and again mix thoroughly. keep aside for 10 minutes.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4. In a small mixing bowl combine 1 tbsp soy sauce ,1 tsp castor sugar, 2 tbsp white vinegar, 1 tbsp tomato puree, 2 tbsp water and mix together well to make a sauce.

  • STEP 5.5. Heat a wok on high heat till hot and then add 1 tbsp oil.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6. Add the prawns and stir fry till light golden. Then remove and keep aside.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7. In the wok heat another 1 tbsp oil, add 85 gm unsalted roasted peanuts, 3 roughly chopped dried red chillies, 10 gm finely chopped ginger, 2 finely chopped cloves of garlic and stir fry for a few seconds.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8. At this stage add the prepared sauce mixture and stir.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9. Bring to a boil and add the fried prawns.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10. Stir fry for a minute and turn off the heat.

step 11

  • STEP 11.11. Transfer to a dish and serve hot.
