  • 0.13 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon Tamarind Pulp
  • 1/4 tablespoon Jaggery

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the horse gram lentils for 4-5 hours.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the lentils with water, turmeric, and salt until soft.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and saut茅 until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and cook until tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 6.Add the cooked lentils to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Add tamarind pulp, jaggery, and salt to taste. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

  • Soaking the lentils helps in reducing the cooking time.
