In fact, Nyonya kuih is iconic, so much so that it outshines savory dishes.Kuih Dadar (Kuih Tayap) - Rolled crepe flavored with pandan juice and filled with grated coconut steeped in gula melaka or Malaysian palm sugar.

Ingredients for Kuih Dadar/Kuih Tayap Recipe

  • As required Pandan juice
  • 5 Nos pandan leaves
  • 3-4 tablespoon Water
  • As required Crepe Batter
  • 120 gram Flour
  • 100 milliliter coconut milk
  • 1 Nos egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoon pandan juice
  • As required Filling
  • 90 gram gula melaka
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Nos pandan leaf
  • 50 milliliter Water
  • 1/2 Nos coconut
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch

Directions: Kuih Dadar/kuih Tayap Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Grind pandan leaf and water

  • STEP 1.Now transfer the pandan mixture into a cheesecloth and squeeze to extract the juice and strain through a sieve

step 3

  • STEP 2.Take the bowl and sieve the flour,add egg yolk,coconut milk,3 tbsp pandan juice and mix well

Step 1

  • STEP 1.cover and cook until sugar dissolves the strain it and again transfer it into the pot

Step 6

  • STEP 1.then add grated coconut, cornstarch and cook it for a few minutes and transfer it into a bowl

Step 7

  • STEP 1.take another pan and grease with some oil

Step 8

  • STEP 1.then add 2 tbsp of batter into the pot and make a thin crepe

Step 9

  • STEP 1.bring down the crepe when it is cooked and fill it with the filling prepared

Step 10

  • STEP 1.then roll it up like a spring roll and serve
  • STEP 3.place a pot over gas stove and add palm sugar,sugar and water
