Ingredients for Kudumulu Recipe

  • 2 tablespoon Chana Dal
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery
  • 2 tablespoon Grated Coconut
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • As required Water
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee for greasing

Directions: Kudumulu Recipe

  • STEP 1.Soak 2 tbsp of chana dal for 1 hr.
  • STEP 2.In a pan add 300ml of water to boil, add 2 tbsp of rinsed chana dal and cook until it is soft.
  • STEP 3.Once the dal is soft add ¾ cup of jaggery and let it melt.
  • STEP 4.Add 2tbsp of grated coconut and mix well.
  • STEP 5.Let the mix boil once, then add 1 tsp of cardamom powder and 1 cup wet rice flour in the pan. Mix everything promptly and let the mix cool down.
  • STEP 6.When the mix is lukewarm knead and make a dough.
  • STEP 7.Apply some ghee in your hands, take a handful of dough and create a round ball shape.
  • STEP 8.Grease the steamer with ghee and steam the prepared kudumulu for about 8 - 10 minutes in medium flame
  • STEP 9.Kudumulu is ready to serve.
