  • 1/4 cup Rice
  • 0.13 cup Split Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 0.63 Ves
  • 1/4 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 1/4 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 Green Chilies, Slit
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 cup Water
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice and lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, cloves, and cinnamon.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and saut茅 until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and turmeric powder. Saut茅 for a minute.
  • STEP 5.Add soaked rice, lentils, and water. Season with salt.
  • STEP 6.Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the rice and lentils are cooked and soft.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with a dollop of ghee, papad, and pickle.

  • You can add vegetables like peas, carrots, and potatoes to make it more nutritious.
  • Adjust the quantity of water according to your desired consistency.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of asafoetida and garam masala.
