  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • as needed A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 Onion, Chopped
  • 1 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind Pulp
  • 1.50 cup Water
  • 1 Rotis, Shredded
  • as required Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • STEP 4.Add tamarind pulp and water. Bring it to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 5.Meanwhile, heat oil in another pan and add shredded roti. Stir-fry until it becomes crispy.
  • STEP 6.Add the fried roti to the rasam mixture and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add vegetables like carrots, beans, and peas to make it more nutritious.
  • Adjust the spice level according to your taste by adding more or less chili powder.
  • Make sure to fry the roti until it becomes crispy to add a crunchy texture to the dish.
