It is prepared by cooking rice with coconut milk hence this name, can even be consisdered as a rice cake or rice pudding. Kirkbath is an essential dish of Sri Lankan cuisine. Ingredients for Kiribath Recipe

  • 1/2 No.s shredded Coconut
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • As required For the KATTA SAMBOL
  • 1 No.s chopped Tomato
  • 1 No.s chopped Onion
  • 3-4 teaspoon Dried Chilli Flakes
  • 30 milliliter Lemon juice

Directions: Kiribath Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 wash the rice and pour it in an electric cooker with water filled half inch above the level of rice.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 in a bowl take shredded coconut and add water to it and take out the coconut milk.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 in another bowl take chopped onion, chopped tomato, chilli flakes, lime juice, salt and gently mix it together.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 once your rice gets cooked add coconut milk to it, mix well and cook again with a lid on.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 take the rice out and shape it in a plate and let it cool.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 cut the rice into rectangular pieces and serve with prepared katta sambol
