  • 1/2 cup Rice Flour
  • 0.13 cup Urad Dal Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sesame Seeds

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, urad dal flour, red chili powder, asafoetida, salt, and sesame seeds.
  • STEP 2.Add water gradually and knead into a smooth dough.
  • STEP 3.Take a small portion of the dough and shape it into small discs using a murukku press or by hand.
  • STEP 4.Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai for frying.
  • STEP 5.Carefully drop the shaped vadam into the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy.
  • STEP 6.Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • STEP 7.Allow the Killu Vadam to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Storage and Serving

  • Killu Vadam can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
  • Serve it as a snack with tea or coffee, or enjoy it on its own.
