Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Boil and mash the potatoes. Add chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 2.In a separate bowl, prepare the batter by mixing gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, baking soda, and salt. Add water gradually to make a smooth batter.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. Take a portion of the potato mixture and shape it into a ball. Dip it into the batter, ensuring it is coated evenly. Carefully drop it into the hot oil.
  • STEP 4.Fry the batata wada on medium heat until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
