A fusion pizza made using whole wheat khakhra as the base, smeared with cheese spread and topped with roasted vegetables flavoured with Italian seasoning. Khakhra pizza is a delicious snack made with whole wheat homemade khakhra, mayonnaise and topped with some vegetables. Quick and healthy after school snack for kids. Khakhra is a crispy, savoury snack that is common in the Gujrathi and Rajashtani cuisine. These can be eaten either plain or with a variety of chutney's and pickles. This recipe is therefore called a Khakhra Pizza.

Ingredients for Khakhra Pizza Recipe

  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  • 1 Calsicum diced small Nos
  • 1/4 cup Sweet corn steamed
  • 2 Tomatoes blanched and chopped Nos
  • 2 sprig Basil chopped
  • As required Italian Seasoning
  • As required Cheese spread for application
  • 2 Whole wheat khakhra Nos

Directions: Khakhra Pizza Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a preheated pan add1 tsp butter, let it melt. Add 1 capsicum diced small. Saute on low heat till capsicum gets a caramelized texture. Add ¼ cup steamed sweet corn and stir.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Increase the heat and add 2 blanched and chopped tomatoes, add any Italian seasoning of choice and 2 sprigs of freshly chopped basil. Quickly stir fry to avoid over cooking. Add chilli flakes and salt to taste. Stir to mix all the ingredients well.

step 3

  • STEP 1.The texture of the topping sauce must be thick but not so thick. On a whole wheat khakhra, apply cheese spread. Then generously top with the roasted vegetables. The khakhra pizza is ready.
