  • 1/2 Tomato, Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger, Grated

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the moong dal for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the dal with water, turmeric, ginger, and garlic until soft.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and dried red chilies.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions and saut茅 until golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  • STEP 6.Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Add salt, red chili powder, and garam masala to the dal and simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.

  • Soaking the dal helps in faster cooking and also makes it easier to digest.
