  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a large pan, heat ghee and add whole spices like cinnamon, cloves, and bay leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add the soaked rice, saffron strands, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.Add water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and let it cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and fluffy.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pan, heat ghee and fry cashews and raisins until golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and garnish with the fried cashews and raisins.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with raita or any curry of your choice.
