Ingredients for Kerala Style Prawn Curry Recipe

  • 200 gram Prawns
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1.50 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • As required Handful of curry leaves
  • 2 dry red chili
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 cup Diced Onion
  • 1/2 cup Diced Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

Steps To Prepare

  • STEP 1.Deshell the prawns and wash them under running water.
  • STEP 2.Marinate the prawns with salt and turmeric powder and keep them aside.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat a pan and add 2 tbsp oil to it.
  • STEP 2.Next, add 1 tsp mustard seeds, a handful of curry leaves and some dry red chilies and let them splutter.
  • STEP 3.Next, add chopped onions and tomatoes and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  • STEP 4.To the same tomato and onion mixture, add a tsp of ginger-garlic paste along with a tsp of red chilli powder. Mix well to combine.
  • STEP 5.Once the raw smell disappears from the masala, add a cup of water and bring it to a boil.
  • STEP 6.Finally, add the marinated prawns and cook for 10-15 minutes till you attain the desired consistency.

Storage And Serving Method

  • STEP 1.Serve this curry with rice or flatbreads on the side.
