  • 200 gram Prawns
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1.50 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • As required Handful of curry leaves
  • 2 dry red chili
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 cup Diced Onion
  • 1/2 cup Diced Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

How to Make Kerala Style Prawn Curry Recipe

Steps To Prepare

STEP 01

Deshell the prawns and wash them under running water.

STEP 02

Marinate the prawns with salt and turmeric powder and keep them aside.

Cooking Directions

STEP 01

Heat a pan and add 2 tbsp oil to it.

STEP 02

Next, add 1 tsp mustard seeds, a handful of curry leaves and some dry red chilies and let them splutter.

STEP 03

Next, add chopped onions and tomatoes and saute for 3-4 minutes.

STEP 04

To the same tomato and onion mixture, add a tsp of ginger-garlic paste along with a tsp of red chilli powder. Mix well to combine.

STEP 05

Once the raw smell disappears from the masala, add a cup of water and bring it to a boil.

STEP 06

Finally, add the marinated prawns and cook for 10-15 minutes till you attain the desired consistency.

Serve this curry with rice or flatbreads on the side.
