Ingredients for Kerala Spicy Mixture Recipe

  • 3 tablespoon Split gram dal
  • As required Curry leaves A few
  • 3 tablespoon Peanuts
  • As required Oil For Frying
  • 3 No.s Garlic Cloves
  • As required Ingredients for Sev
  • 2 cup Basan
  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • NaN As required Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida powder
  • 1.74 cup Water
  • 2 pinch Sugar
  • As required Ingredients for Boondi
  • 1/2 cup Gram flour/Besan
  • 1 tablespoon Rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida Powder

Directions: Kerala Spicy Mixture Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 take a bowl and place a sieve on the bowl. Add 2 cup gram flour/besan, 1cup roasted rice flour, 2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ¼ tsp asafoetida, salt to taste and a pinch of sugar. Sieve the ingredients. Mix well.

  • STEP 2.2 gradually add 1cup water and mix well to prepare the dough.

  • STEP 3.3 add 1tsp oil and mix well.

  • STEP 4.4 place the disc (disc with tiny holes) into the sevanazhi and grease the inner side of the sevanazhi with oil or butter. Fill the sevanazhi with the dough and close it.

  • STEP 5.5 heat oil in a kadai, maintain medium oil. Gently press the sevanazhi straight to the oil in a circular motion. Fry it in batches. Fry it for 1-2 mins.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 take a bowl and add ½ cup gram flour/besan, 1tbsp rice flour, 1tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp asafoetida, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste and a pinch of sugar. Mix well. Add ¾ cup water. Mix well.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 heat oil in a kadai and pour the prepared batter in the perforated spoon, straight to the oil. Tiny balls (boondi) will be created. Fry it in batches. Add it to sev.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 fry curry leaves and add it to the sev. Fry 3-4 crushed garlic cloves.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9 fry 3tbsp split gram dal. Add it to sev.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10 fry 3tbsp peanut. Add it to sev. Turn off the flame.

step 11

  • STEP 11.11 add 1tsp chilli powder and ¼ tsp asafoetida. Mix them very well.

step 12

  • STEP 12.12 kerala spicy mixture is ready to be served.
