  • 1/4 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/4 Tomato, Chopped
  • 1/4 piece Drumstick, Cut Into S
  • 0.13 cup Pumpkin, Diced
  • 1/4 Brinjal, Diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Oil
  • 0.13 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 0.06 teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
  • as needed A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon Sambar Powder
  • 0.06 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon Tamarind Pulp

  • STEP 1.Pressure cook the lentils with water until soft.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, tomatoes, and vegetables. Cook until tender.
  • STEP 4.Add sambar powder, turmeric powder, and tamarind pulp. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Add the cooked lentils and simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Temper the sambar with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • STEP 7.Serve the Kerala Sambar hot with rice or idli.
