Ingredients for Keerai Vadai Recipe

  • 1 No.s Onion finely chopped or cut into long strips
  • 2 No.s Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 3 Garlic grated cloves
  • 1 cup Spinach finely chopped
  • 1 Chana dal soaked handful
  • 2 cup Ground chana dal
  • As required Salt
  • As required Oil for deep frying

Directions: Keerai Vadai Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak 1 cup chana dal in water for 4 to 5 hours

step 2

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add 1 onion finely chopped or cut into long strips, 2 green chillies finely chopped, 1 inch ginger grated, 3 cloves garlic grated, 1 cup finely chopped spinach, 1 handful of soaked chana dal

step 3

  • STEP 1.In a mixer grinder add 1 cup washed and soaked and drained chana dal (bengal gram) and blend to a coarse texture.

  • STEP 1.Add ground chana dal to the chopped vegetables in the mixing bowl, add 1 tbsp cumin seeds, salt to taste. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai for deep frying, take small portions of the vadai mixture and shape and bring it together into flat discs.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Slip the vadai into the hot oil and fry till evenly brown and crisp from all the sides. Drain the excess oil and serve.
