  • 2 cup Thick curd
  • 100 gram Keerai washed and finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • As required Salt
  • As required Ingredients for Tempering
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Split white urad dal
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 2 No.s Dry red chilli

How to Make Keerai Pachadi/palak Raita Recipe

Preheat a wok and add ½ tsp oil, add 100 gms chopped spinach or any greens of choice, salt to taste. Sit fry till leaves are wilted and softened. Cover the pan and allow it to cook in the steam for 2 to3 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the spinach to cool.

To make the seasoning, preheat a pan, add 1 tsp oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp split white urad dal. Allow the seeds to crackle and the urad dal to turn golden. Add 1 sprig curry leaves torn, 2 dry red chillies broken. Turn off the heat.

To assemble the keerai pachadi, in a mixing bowl whisk 2 cups curd, the cooked spinach, ¼ tsp cumin powder, salt and whisk to combine well.

Lastly pour the seasoning over the spinach raita and give it a stir.
