Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash the black rice and soak it in water for 4-5 hours.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the soaked rice with water until soft.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, melt jaggery with water to make a syrup.
  • STEP 4.Add the cooked rice to the jaggery syrup and mix well.
  • STEP 5.Add coconut milk and cardamom powder to the rice mixture.
  • STEP 6.Cook on low heat until the pudding thickens.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot or chilled, garnished with nuts and raisins.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add cashews and almonds for extra crunch.
  • Adjust the sweetness according to your taste by adding more or less jaggery.
  • You can also add a pinch of saffron for a fragrant flavor.
