Take out a cleaned karimeen. Now marinate the fish with 1 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tsp chilli powder,2 tsp pepper powder, salt, 2 tsp ginger garlic paste and 1 full squeezed lemon water.
In a pan, heat some cooking oil and half fry the fish. In another vessel add chopped ginger,chopped garlic, 3 chopped tomatoes, 3 chopped onions and 2 chopped green chillies.Saute well.
Add 2 stems of plucked curry leaves, a pinch of salt, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tsp of chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder and 1 tsp of pepper powder.
Saute well the ingredients. Transfer to this pan half cooked fish. Continue cooking with 1 tsp of coconut oil and 5 tsp of coconut milk. Cook till the gravy is fully absorbed on to the fish.
Transfer the fish to a banana leaf and wrap it around with a string. Grill the fish in a pan. Tasty, spicy Karimeen pollichathu is ready.
