Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Slice the bitter gourd (karela) and sprinkle salt and turmeric on them. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Squeeze out the excess water from the karela and rinse them with water.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, heat oil and sauté onions, green chillies, and spices.
  • STEP 4.Add the karela and raw mango slices to the pan and cook until tender.
  • STEP 5.Serve the Karela with Raw Mango as a side dish with rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • To reduce the bitterness of the karela, you can also soak the sliced karela in buttermilk for a few hours before cooking.
