Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak rice and lentils separately for a few hours, then grind them into a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Ferment the batter overnight or for at least 8 hours.
  • STEP 3.Add salt and mix well. Heat a dosa tawa (griddle) and pour a ladleful of batter onto it.
  • STEP 4.Spread the batter in a circular motion to form a thin dosai. Drizzle oil around the edges.
  • STEP 5.Sprinkle the chutney powder on top and cook until the dosai turns golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 6.Flip the dosai and cook for a minute on the other side. Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.

  • Make sure the batter is fermented well to get soft and fluffy dosais.
  • Adjust the spiciness of the chutney powder according to your preference.
