Kanafeh Recipe

A very unique and easy Egypt dessert prepared from vermicelli & curdled milk. Kanafeh is a Middle Eastern pastry made of kadaïf (more commonly called angel hair), akawi cheese and samneh or ghee (clarified butter). Once baked, the kanafeh is drizzled with a rose water scented syrup and sprinkled with crushed pistachios or walnuts. Crispy on the outside and melting on the inside, this delicately scented dessert is a real treat.

Ingredients for Kanafeh Recipe

  • 1/2 liter Milk
  • 1 Nos lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 250 gram roasted vermicelli
  • 1/2 cup Ghee
  • As required Some finely chopped pistachios

Directions: Kanafeh Recipe

  • STEP 1.Boil ½ litre milk

  • STEP 2.And add lemon juice

step 3

  • STEP 3.Strain the curdled milk and grind it as paste.

  • STEP 4.Now boil one cup of water and add sugar in it.

  • STEP 5.Add ½ lemon juice and turn off the flame

  • STEP 6.Take vermicelli in a plate and break it

step 7

  • STEP 7.Add ghee onto it and mix it with hands

  • STEP 8.1.add ½ tsp ghee in a pan and heat it

step 11

  • STEP 9.2.now put the vermicelli into the pan in a circular disc pattern

  • STEP 10.3.spread the grinded curdled milk on the surface of the vermicelli and cover it again by spreading vermicelli.

  • STEP 11.4.cook at medium flame for 5 mins

step 14

  • STEP 12.5.flip it and cook it from the other side for 5 mins

step 15

  • STEP 13.6.now pour the sugar syrup and turn off the flame

step 16

  • STEP 14.7.leave it for 10 mins

  • STEP 15.8.garnish it with roasted pistachios
