- 2 Dry roasted red chilies
- 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon Fennel seeds
- 2 teaspoon Peppercorns
- 5 Cloves
- 8 small diced onions
- 1 Ginger medium
- 4 Garlic Cloves
- 2 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon kashmiri red chili powder
- As required Salt

How to Make Kallumakkaya Ularthiyathu Recipe
STEP 01
Clean the mussels well
STEP 02
Stem the mussels so that they open
STEP 03
Roast then ground the 2tbsp red chilies, coriander seeds 1tbsp,fennel seeds tbsp,peppercorns 1tsp,cloves 5 .
STEP 04
Heat 2tbsp coconut oil in a frying pan and fry the onions, garlic and ginger and paste them
STEP 05
Marinate the mussels with 2tbsp of the grounder masala/powder, salt, kashmiri red chili powder , crushed onion, garlic and ginger for 1hr
STEP 06
Heat 1tbsp coconut oil in a cooking pan , add some curry leaves
STEP 07
Add the marinated mussels and fry
STEP 08
Add some more curry leaves and fry until its turns brown
STEP 09
Pour it into a serving plate and serve hot with breads
