Many people also know Kaliyadakka as savoury cheeda or Uppu Seedai. Uppu Seedai is one of the widley prepared snacks on Janmashtami in Karantaka. The snack may have many names across South India, but it is essentially a super crispy ball made of mixture comprising rice flour, cumin seeds, shallots and more. An excellent tea-time snack that can also be stored in air-tight containers for a considerable period.
